Doctor Derrick Gray
Position: Psychiatric Doctor, Mental Health Professional.
Gray worked as a Psychiatrist in the 30’s at OHSU. He experimented with the therapeutic application of pain, and early in his research he made several significant discoveries. However, as time went on, he went to the point of torturing and killing his patients. He was later shut down in 1937, but not before extensively torturing two patients; known as Patient 740 and Patient 63.
On the day he was forcibly removed, one of his patients brutally attacked him, but he was able to survive, though his license was stripped. He later died of lung cancer at the age of 47.
